Masthead Image

The counted cross-stitch image shown above is called Aunt Lucy's Place. It reminds my husband of  an old homestead where he spent many happy hours as a child. Designed by Linda Meyers and originally called Autumn at Sinking Creek, it now hangs in our dining room. View a larger image of Aunt Lucy's Place.

The Imperial Phoenix

The Imperial Phoenix  was long associated with the Empress of China.  This mythical bird also symbolized life eternal, as the Phoenix was thought to be able to recreate itself. The leaflet is by Serendipity Designs and is part of their Oriental Collection. The piece was worked on ivory 14 count Aida, double matted and framed in gold. It was a gift to Jim's daughter, Anne one year at Christmas. The stitch count is 160 x 210 stitches.  We included the Legend of the Phoenix on the back. Unfortunately, my photographic abilities are not as good as my stitching.
